The Berkeley Business Plan Competition and the four green energy teams that made it to the semi-finals -- Helios, Boegeskov (HyPhase Energy), Diamond Energy, and Homeland Fuels -- were featured in a 15-minute segment called "Green Entrepreneurs" on Living on Earth, a nationally broadcast public radio show, on June 10, 11, and 12. Jerome Engel, executive director of the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation was among those interviewed for the segment.   October, 2007 – Mr. Rolf Becker joins the Hyphase team. Mr. Becker, a Chemical Engineer and accomplished Renewable Energy (RE) entrepreneur, has over ten years experience building RE companies, and extensive experience in design and fabrication of MEA/PEM fuel cells, including a patent for a protective conductive coating and a patent pending for a moldable conductive composite.

July, 2007 – Hyphase has received a significant Seed Round investment from a Silicon Valley based biomedical device company. Hyphase Energy has been offered 2400 sq.ft. of state-of-the-art labs and offices, limited licensing, equipment and personal, in the company's new facilities located in Mountain View.
